Now I just hope I’ll be able to recreate the same scene year after year! I got a few questions about pieces in this photo after posting on Instagram - the framed map is an antique from my childhood home ( this affordable print looks quite similar!), the chairs were a Craigslist find reupholstered in this Lee Jofa fabric, and the Ballard Designs ottoman is upholstered in this Schumacher fabric (they offer COM upholstery so I mailed in an order form and then shipped them the fabric directly). We never have peonies at Christmastime so I was over the moon to spot them at Whole Foods this weekend! I put them in our stocking holders (many years old from Restoration Hardware but I found a few on eBay here!) and it’s made me so happy to watch them open up over the past few days.

The red wrapping paper is by Alexandra Williams Design - love all her patterns! My mom, brother, and I spent all of Saturday afternoon wrapping (and shipping!) presents while listening to Christmas music which always gets me in the holiday spirit. We’ve never had a tree with needles this sharp! Thank goodness Teddy has very little interest in the tree because it truly feels like a cactus to the touch - not exactly fun to decorate but still pretty to look at! This was our first year cutting down our own Christmas tree and while it was a fun adventure and it’s a beautiful tree, I have a feeling we’re sticking with Stew Leonard’s next year. Wishing you all some R&R and happy, happy holidays to you and your loved ones! Thank you all for sticking with me in this crazy year and cheers to a fresh start for us all in 2021! This blog post will be my last one for 2020! I’m excited to spend the next week and a half taking it easy, tidying, and getting in a positive mindset before the start of the new year. I imagine our collection of holiday decor will continue to expand and evolve in the years to come, but here’s how everything came together this year! Our Christmas decorations have been a hybrid of things my parents brought from our childhood home when they moved in and things Will and I have ordered to fill a particular spot in this home.
